I am a registered Occupational Therapist, based in Galway, Ireland. In 2007, I graduated with a BSc (Hons) degree in Occupational Therapy from the National University of Ireland, Galway.

An interest in chronic pain led me to engage in further study at the University of Alberta, Canada where I graduated with a Post-Graduate Certificate in pain management in 2016. I also completed a post graduate certification in Ergonomics with the University of Derby in 2020.

My career to date has allowed me to work in a variety of clinical settings in Ireland and in Canada. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with many individuals and their families, teachers, employers and carers.

I have experience of working with people with a range of disabling health conditions including musculoskeletal injuries, neurological conditions and mental health difficulties. I have assessed / treated people with Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD / Dyspraxia), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Autism. I have applied my skills and knowledge in clinic-based treatment, in workplaces, in people’s homes and in the community.

I began to work in private practice in 2013 in British Columbia, Canada. A central focus of my role at that time was to support individuals to return to work after being injured in car/vehicle/bike accidents. I gained experience completing workplace assessments in an array of environments including offices, factories/assembly lines, wood mills, catering/kitchen and educational institutions. My interest in Vocational Rehabilitation and its benefits was sparked and has remained my clinical focus.

Ability Occupational Therapy began providing services in Ireland in 2017. Alongside my clinical work, I have delivered guest lectures on the topics of workplace assessments, mental health and chronic pain for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at the University of Limerick and the National University of Ireland, Galway. I am currently enrolled in a Masters (MSc) level programme in Occupational Health to continue to develop my expertise, knowledge and skills relating to occupational health, ergonomics, organisational psychology and in effective workplace systems.
